The program has four advanced practice areas: individuals and families, organizations and community, policy practice and advocacy, and evaluation.
Qualified learners can earn an advanced MSW degree in eight months full time, or 16 months part time.

Tuition range$30,845-$61,690Tuition and fees are subject to change and may increase each academic year. Tuition does not include student fees, technology platform licensing, or support services. Learners are also responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to any in-person immersions or residentials.

Field education is an integral part of the online Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Both traditional and advanced standing learners begin working with real clients in the field soon after classes begin. This allows learners to spend the maximum amount of time applying the skills they are gaining in class, while exploring how they best want to serve their communities.
To facilitate field education opportunities, the online MSW at the Graduate School of Social Work has partnerships with agencies across the country that share in their core values and meet their high standards for practice. Placement specialists are available to help learners find field education opportunities at faculty-approved agencies near their own area.
